MSY North Terminal

In recent years, the Louis Armstrong-New Orleans Armstrong International Airport (MSY) has seen a dramatic recovery from the significant underutilization in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. When 2010 enplanements reached 90 percent of pre-Katrina levels, the airport turned its focus from recovery and short/mid-term development to long-term infrastructure development based on a 30-year planning horizon. In 2012, the City of New Orleans and the New Orleans Aviation Board selected Atkins to oversee the airport’s return to a world-class facility in both form and function.

The project was done in partnership with Atkins International and Leo A. Daily. eStudio was responsible for the redesign of the two north concourses totaling 350,000SF to bring them into budget from the original design concept by I.M. Pei. Responsibilities involved coordination of both airside and landside components including gate and hold room layout, TSA and FAA, fueling lines, antenna farm and MEP, structural and civil consultants from design development through construction documents.

The project is currently beginning construction and is expected to be completed in 2018.

SSP America

eStudio provides immersive virtual walkthroughs of new projects in order to allow clients the ability to visualize their completed spaces well before construction documents begin. By employing this technique, we are able to streamline construction documents and make the critical adjustments that take the clients’ expectations to the next level and ensure that each project is exactly as it’s envisioned from concept to opening day.

FMC Woodlands West

eStudio has worked with Fresenius Medical Care on more than one hundred dialysis clinics in five states. BIM and 3D visualization have allowed the team to identify efficiencies and areas of conflict. This has helped improve patient and staff comfort.

With FMC Woodlands West, eStudio has been working with FMC on an immersive walkthrough to assist in employee training. This walkthrough can be utilized to familiarize new staff with a standard facility and gain a better understanding of the equipment used within the clinic. This experience also allows the viewer to call up information on a piece of equipment to see specifications, cost, etc.

This project is currently in construction and is expected to be completed in 2016.

IAH Terminal C

The project is the second phase in a three-phased approach to replace and renovate the original Terminal B at IAH. Upon completion of this phase, United Airlines will vacate existing Terminal C North which will be demolished by HAS to enable the reconstruction of IAH Terminal D, which is the overall development’s critical piece in successfully connecting customers to United flights and flights operated by United’s international airline partners.

NCN includes a 2-level, 265,000-square-foot concourse that accommodates 11 new narrow-body equivalent gates. The project is being designed to include the latest in customer amenities including varied seating options in the hold rooms with access to power and USB ports, large expanses of exterior windows throughout the concourse with panoramic views, expansive gate-lounge areas providing higher levels of comfort, and 20 new dining and retail options near boarding gates that will give Houstonians and travelers connecting through the airport more of the varied options they enjoy.

eStudio was requested to participate as part of the PGAL team to support and provide architectural services on United Terminal C North New Concourse. eStudio supported the PGAL team in design options, BIM and 3D visualization of the project as part of the review during the design development and construction document phases of the project.

The project is currently beginning construction and is expected to be completed in 2017.
